I have had 2 over aged boyfriends the first one was 17 and about to turn 18 but my mom made me break up with him b4 he was overf age. But i understand that because he was a total jerk and horn dog and i dont even talk to him any more. The second guy though was totally amazing we had a insane amount in common and he treated me insanly well. But since he was 18 and my mom found out and wanted us to break up but at the time we have already been going out for about a month and i fought against my mom for abouy 2 weeks b4 i broke up with him. We are still great friends and i talk to him all the time and we still hang out together. But i still am crushing on him and he still likes me to. I feel horrible and like i made a huge mistake. So was my mom right? or should have i gone behind he back and kept dating him?

Okay, how old are you? That is the question. Statutory rape only applies to 16 in the state I am in and the age varies by state. So, your age is kind of important here. If this is only two or three years difference then I do not see what the big deal would be in seeing said older guy, but if the age difference is more like four or five years, I can see where your family might have some concern as to the possible influence these men would have on you. If this guy likes you as much as you say he will wait for you to reach an age that is appropriate for you to be able to make your own decision about whom to date.

Your mom or ANY adult who is aware of your relationship is required by LAW to report it to the police. If you truly care about any of these MEN, stop seeing them until you're 18 or risk them going to jail.

You don't say how old you are, but judging by the level of naivete and immaturity displayed in your post, I doubt you're worth going to jail for.

Honey you need to listen to your mothers advice. You could not knowingly get to involved, which could lead to very bad circumstances. Getting intimately involved would be bad for him also. Your mother is just trying to protect you from getting in over your head. She is older and wiser. She has had much experience in her life and is trying to keep you from making a big mistake. God Bless. and please listen to your mother.

I don't think making your mother hate him will make your relationship easier. Maybe you should wait until you a little older and then he can ask your parents if you can date him.
