I'm sorry, maybe I worded my question wrong. I wanted to hear some really nice wedding day stories

Hee. That's awesome. I can't wait 'til it's legal, either. You should have the hugest wedding possible.

It will be legal in america Don't worry.
They will follow in canada's footsteps.
You can have a church ceremony by a legally authorized church.
which is usually but not always non-denominational.
The religious leaders have boycotted this legislation for some time. Our conservative prime rib prime minister tried to re visit the gay issue in the house of commons. It was defeated. he cannot adjust the gay issue again although things are never safe when it comes to gay rights. We're not having wedding in gay bath houses yet. but times are a changing for the better.

wouldn't you love if our generation was running and manipulating the rest of the populace. the old wasps are running the show.
and for you that don't know what a wasp is ,,,, it is a white anglo saxon protestant

Ah, I see you're another one who can't distinguish between LEGAL marriage contracts and RELIGIOUS ceremonies.

If an INDIVIDUAL church CHOOSES to perform a wedding ceremony for same sex couples, that's really up to them. It's not a LEGALLY binding contract without a Marriage License...which is a LEGAL document, not a church document.

You can have any kind of wedding that straight people have in Canada...church ceremony, huge catered party, photographer...everything..

I'm fairly certain it comes down to the church and the person and the legal requirements for the marriage license.

it is legal in Massachusetts.
legality is recognition. even in a state where gay marriage is illegal you can still have a full on wedding in a church by a religious leader who does not discriminate...it just won't be recognized legally.

Yes, they can. I could even have one in America, even though its not legal in Arkansas. I know of Ministers who will perform them, churches who allow them and other commercial companies happy to make money off of us. : ) I think we've come a long way, baby!

That's left up to the churches. The legality of SSM has nothing to do with how churches operate.

pretty sure it's okay in spain, the netherlands, many scandanavian countries. might be legal in australia and germany as well.
i agree with you that the US needs to get its act together in this way.
