I know of 2 people who majored in Medical Administration. Both graduated and looked for jobs. One gave up and is now in nursing school, after 4 years of getting the Administration degree. The other worked for a year at one of those furniture rental stores to get managerial experience, and now has a great job at one of those retirement homes for the elderly. In other words it pays well, but it must be hard to get a job in that. Don't be a tech or assistant. That can be like being a nurse's aid who-I hate to say it-wipes butts. You can do great as an RN and there are jobs everywhere. You can become an RN in 2 years at a Jr. College.

In reality , any assistant job is low paying, The cost to train, is really not worth it. Because, the company will probably train you.. A medical assistant answers the phone, makes appointments, and is the front end person, you do not need to go to school for that!!!!

Is medical billing the same thing as what you are looking to do? There are lots of people doing that from home. You might do this to help pay for you school.
