My favorite movie is the Guardian. It's so sad, but its such an amazing story and its made to honor the coast guard. Who have an extremley dangerous job that people often overlook. The soundtrack, the acting, the special effects... everything about the movie is great. Plus, Ashton Kutcher is gorgeous!!

No single favorite.
Really like: The Harry Potter movies, The X-Men 1 and 2. The last Bat Man Movie was excellent, better even than the first ones, I think, Indiana Jones and the Lost Ark, The last Indiana Jones Movie, The first three Star Wars movies that came out, All of the Lord of the Rings, Night at the Museum, Cars, Over the Hedge, The Wrath of Khan (Star Trek), Pirates of the Caribbean one and two. That's all I can think of except Back Draft and Ladder 49 for tear jerkers and Young Frankenstein and the Mask for comedy.
Sorry I'm not into chick flicks or war movies or sports.

All About Eve - with the irreplacable Bette Davis. I have all of her movies and I think this one, filmed when she was well passed the "starlet" stage, is her very best. The ensemble cast is perfect, the story is wonderful and honest and Anne Baxter is the perfect nemesis. Even Celeste Holm whose acting skills were not really very good, was the perfect choice and played the part like none other.
Then, of course, the Star herself. She was 40, no longer in as much demand in Hollywood, but she glowed in this part. It was a part that no other could have played then, and none could play now. She was perfect!
Then, of course, the titillating "back story" of her wild romance with co-star Gary Merrill (who she subsequently married - and divorced) and she was still carrying on a long term affair with director Billy Wyler... Oh boy, it just all worked.
This film was also the first time Marilyn Monroe appeared on screen in a legitimate Hollywood produced picture.
I have watched this movie so many times that I practically know the script by heart. Even knowing it so well and how it will go - and how it will turn out...I am mesmerized by Ms. Davis performance. One simply cannot take ones eyes off her. There will never be another Bette.

You have to see Gene Hackman in "Bat 21" wherein he gives the coordinates of a golf course to Danny Glover as a way of finding Gene behind enemy lines. Very unique.
Also, Gene Hackman in "Behind Enemy Lines." Owens Wilson, who had the lead, did a believable job in a serious role.
You want comedy, try "I Love Trouble" with Julia Roberts and Nick Nolte. You would never expect the subtle humor from either of them.
If you want a good belly laugh, then watch "Galaxy Quest" with Tim Allen. You won't watch another space movie without thinking about this one and laughing.
