I have a 1981 chevy 3/4 ton truck with 4 speed and the transfer case is bad I have found one that was on a turbo 400. Will they interchange?

You may have to get a new adapter plate for the 4 speed.Gm used different adapter plates depending on what transmission they used.Here is a website that specializes in transfer case transmission swaps.There is alot of info on this site---

The transfer case will interchange but you have to change the input shaft of the transfer case. The splines are different.

yeah, you might have to get an adaptor plate for the tail shaft
