Because he doesn't have his priorities straight. Unless you've given him reason in the past and he knows you. A man is supposed to put his wife first, even above children! he chose her, he didn't have a choice of parents.

Because a father's advice is based on experience and the wife's is not. A father doesn't need to fight for attention like the wife does. The bond and respect between father and son are built on decades of relationships and hopefully trust, one bit at a time. And a father usually knows to let the kid go (at least easier than a mother can).
And anyone who is jealous of the spouse's parent(s) is putting the spouse in a very difficult situation. He won't appreciate what you are doing.

That would be a hard one. I love my wife and respect what she has to say but then my Father is a very good man who would not say something that he did not cosider the truth.
I would not want to be in a situation where I had to decide between the two.

There could be any number of reasons:
1. It could be an area of fathers expertise.
2. He could believe you are not qualified to speak on this matter. (I'm not saying you are or not, I'm talking about what he believes.)
3.. He could believe you are not trustworthy or that his father is more trustworthy.
If it's the latter, then you have to examine what you have done to break trust with your husband.

Depends on what the 'argument' is about...
I had the same problem where I wasn't supported by my husband, when butting heads with his mom. (over OUR child)
He's got to learn to cut the cord and respect you as his wife. Which includes supporting you and being there for you when you need him.

I would take my fathers word before my wife any day. He has a 30 year track record of telling me the truth. how could I not trust him. also wives tend to bend the truth to their view some times.

Depends on circumstances. You don't believe someone strictly because of the relationship...depends upon what you are talking about, what was being said, etc.

Maybe because his dad is telling the truth....and without information, then its hard to give an informed answer.

He shouldn't, but it really depends on the trust between you and your husband.
