first off amy pill is going to have some type of side affect. Period. secondly with birth control you have to find the right on for you. There are so many on the market now. I tried the rgular ones orthotryclyclin 3 and was using them for 3 months st the age of 15 and i found out i was pregnant, i was allergic to the pill and it didnt work effectivly. I have also tried the shot, and it sucked, ive never been normal since. I did gain weight, became more moody and lost my hormanal balance. I quit using birth control. ive been married 4 like 6 years so its all good, i have trust in my spouse and we have a happy marriage, but still its something you will need to talk to a doctor, and have him or her weigh your options and discuss what pills are out there and which ones will best fit you, remember to ask questions and tell all your health history and dont be scared embarrassed or afraid.

Mirena IUD is something you can look into. I've been on everything. Pills gave me migraines and Depo made me depressed. I got my IUD only a month and a half ago, but I am soo happy with it. It hurt like hell to insert, and cramped for 5 days after, but that was it. My periods instantly went away, and I don't even know it's there. No remembering anything for 5 years. Do not do the copper IUD, that makes periods heavier and symptoms worse. I've heard so many awful stories for Depo, so if you don't get headaches- I really liked Yaz for a pill.

If you're one who doesn't like protection/prefers the natural way to have sex, there's a thing called the contraceptive jag (Might be named differently in USA ^^)

My girlfriend's on it at the moment, it's an injection usually done in the lower back/upper butt area, it's more effective than the pill and it lasts a full 3 months :)

hope this helps ^^

you can't gain weight from birth control pills. I think the only one that you gain weight is from the shot..
