As with any car it depends on how many miles are on it and how well it has been maintained. I had a 1987 mercury cougar with a 302 engine and it was running good at 284,000 miles on it and this is with original engine.

You should do well with it if it appears maintained alright . I've added a site below with similar ones and it appears you got it for a decent price. I haven't had a cougar since a 1969 I had years ago , wish I had it now it was great .

A little too much... probably only worth about 5500 with the V-6 automatic(unless it's had very recent major service... tune up, brakes, tires, timing belt)... if you take care of it... and all of the maintenance been documented... it's still got at least 100K left !

Yup. You would have spent too much on it if you had paid $100 for it. Oops, sorry! I never liked Ford anyways. When I was in the auto repair business, my motto was "if it wasn't for ford, we wouldn't be in business". lol Good luck to you on this one.

about 10 mins. after they leave the dealer.

Dont do it unless the counter jockey at the dealership is hot. Because you will be there alot.
