I guess for the same reason a person who has been married makes negative comments about marriage. Not everyone married or not married makes negative comments....its all based on their experiences, and it makes sense if someone has a bad experience with marriage, they are not going to say anything nice about it. Maybe a person who has never been married has been affected by the huge statistics about divorce. Statistics are absolutely incredible where divorce is concerned, so statistically speaking, not a lot of good things can be said about marriage. Sure, there are lots of happy marriages, but the majority of marriages are not happy, so I can certainly understand why people can comment negatively about marriage, whether they have never been married or not. They have eyes, they can read, they know people who have been married and probably that is the reason they havent been married anyway because their experience has been that not a lot of marriages are good ones.

Because the people that are married let them know about what a croc of S marriage is.
Singles KNOW THIS: You will not be happier when you marry somebody. Sure it might feel good for the first year or two but when the novelty wears off, you're stuck unless you want to pay a lot of money for a divorce and lose half of whatever you have.
Oh, and if you have thoughts about divorcing because you want to see different people, its not natural. In fact, people will tell you that you need counseling.
While you're dating, you can continue to meet new and interesting people and move on to a different lover if the one your with bores you. And best of all, you don't even need a good explanation to leave. You can just get up and go and never look back.
Single = freedom!

Those who say negative things have heard the horror stories of marriage or been part of the horror stories.
They're scared. Being single is scary. So is marriage.
Take comments like that with a grain of salt.

i trust you need to stay and enable stay. gay marriage does no longer effect anybody till you enable it difficulty you and there is not any rationalization why it is going to. i understand the argument about marriage being between a guy and a women folk. yet keep in suggestions at the same time as blacks had to sit down on the again of the bus. What i'm declaring is that issues substitute in existence and we ought to settle for substitute.

someone who hasnt experienced something has a tendency to be judgemental or suggestive. this goes for all things that a person may not be informed personally about. God gave us a brain...if you havent experienced something...go out an experience it or live it by others experiences (not the same) by reading, learning, asking questions. try to understand it. when a person finishes school/college...it doesnt mean that a person shouldnt continue to understand the lives of others around them or to continue to feed his brain, his compassion. dont be ignorant. peace

Because they are scared and not to much of a risk taker. They would rather play it safe and stay single. I used to be that way and people would say just wait ,when you meet that person you will want to marry them. And five marriage proposals later it happened to me.

Because it is uncommon ground and they are jealous. Some women especially can get jealous when their friends get married and they are still single. When people you know start being judgemental of your marriage just say 'Some day it will happen to for you to and then YOU will know the truth about marriage'
