For the same reason that people have taken up the cause of the guilty as anything cop killer Abu Mumia Jamal who murdered a Philadelphia Police Officer.
Some people just can't get enough violence in everyday life and want more scumbag murdering thugs out on the street, or at least to idolize them in prison.
For Kip, killing his parents must've been almost as much a thrill as cowardly shooting people at his school was.

Kip Kinkel was a victim of daily systematic and sadistic abuse by his father in law. KK was NEVER helped by his schoolteachers despite the fact they knew it was happening, NEVER protected by his mother, NEVER protected by the police or the courts even though THEY knew the abuse was going on. That fact was NEVER taken into consideration during the trial and sentencing: everyone who had an obligation to step in and help him failed to act. Putting the blame solely on Kip Kinkel's small shoulders is a cowardly shifting of responsibility.

Yes, Kip Kinkel killed many people and he shouldn't have done it, but he was pushed to it for the same reasons people commit suicide: they feel they have no other way out. In case you're deranged and twisted enough to say, "Why didn't he kill himself instead?" the answer is, Kip Kinkel wasn't the source of the problem. Why *should* he kill himself instead of his tormentors?

wait wooaaah it was his birth father, who was actually very permissive as well as his mother who cared about him and wanted to see him get better, which was why he was so permissive. And this was the 90 s people didnt make huge deals about small conflicts such as pushing someones head into a bubbler. He was never abused by his father and even states this in his recorded confession on pbs.org
