It's not normal to be that tired all of the time. Definitely see a doctor about this. A simple thyroid test might answer some questions. When your thyroid is off, it can make you exhausted.

Yes, he should definitely see his family doctor and have a complete physical. You don't say how old he is but he could have a medical condition that needs to be identified such as a thyroid problem or anemia. He could also be dealing with stress or other internal dilemma that he is not sharing. Depression can also cause someone to be very tired and because of the stigma associated with mental conditions can go untreated needlessly. Men, especially, consider any mental condition to be a character flaw instead of what it really is....a brain condition. They are now doing SPECT scans to help determine what parts of the brain may need tuning up. For more information about this see the work of Daniel G. Amen, MD. One of his best works is "Making a Good Brain Great". Good luck.

One thing may be that he is in a depression. Changing things may perk him up, less work, maybe a weekend trip somewhere he would like to go (does not have to be expensive).
Another thing I have seen when people have similar lethargy is that they may have clogged arteries. This is not a joke. I know three people of differing ages that had built up plaque in their arteries and once they had stints put in they acted 10-20 years younger and felt one hell of a lot better. If this has come on over time you need him to go to the dr. and tell the dr what to test for. If one won't do it, find one that will.
A hospital near where I live now has a machine that can test for plaque in arteries in a walk-in basis and it costs about $400.

WOW! I know this feeling all too well (your feeling that is). It's tough. After a while you begin to take it personal.
Could be stress and maybe a form of depression. If you asked him if he was depressed I'd venture to say he would think you're crazy. BUT, maybe you could talk to him about it, tell him how it makes you feel, and that you're concerned, for him personally and for your relationship. See how he feels about it. Then see if he will go to the doctor about it.
If he is willing to do that - that's great! If he isn't and says "oh it's nothing", then I would feel one of two things... either he is just tired after work, wants to come home and do absolutley nothing not even work at his marriage... OR again, stress/depression.
I know the feeling, IM going through a very similar situation myself. We have talked about it several times, and sharing my feelings has really helped, he is trying to be more mindful of me, realizing that even though I know he is tired and needs to rest, that I still need him too.
Lifting you two up in my prayers

He might not be getting the rest he needs when he sleeps. He should definitely go see a doctor, there might be other causes that might lead to this situation. It could be from something simple like the food he eats to a more serious situation or condition. See a doctor....

Yeah... there is some reason he does not want ... you know. Could it be what you suspect? Why else would you write here? Sounding out the reflective field to get the feedback you already suspect? Otherwise, if you were sure it was a health problem, you would have taken him to a doctor. But try that first.

Is he sleeping all night or does he get up and down... kind of restless sleep ??? If he awakens a lot at night, he is not getting enough restful sleep and probably needs some help from a physician.

hmm sounds just like mine-maybe some vitamins would do him some good as well as a day off that's uninterrupted. If he is in good health and he is always worn out its clear that he is just working too much-he really needs some rest.
