They say
Take long walks, have sex ,even eat seafood such as shrimp and crab.
It is a lot harder for the baby to keep moving around in such tight quarters. As long as you feel movement, don't worry. Just talk it over with your OB and they will check for you.

It is the best exercise to get things going to just walk and walk and walk some more. If you lay down or sit, it isn't going to help that baby come down where it needs to be and labor will be longer starting. Yes, it is quite normal for the baby to be less active in the last 48-72 hours before labor, as the baby is resting and getting ready for the experience, as wall. One of the best things to do, next to walking, is to have relations with your husband, as long as it does not cause you too much discomfort. It helps all the necessary muscles get loosened up. Good luck and God bless you, and yours...cheali2005

Very normal for the baby to stop moving as frequently. My little girl has; although, I still feel her hiccup every now and then (it feels as if I have a heartbeat down there in the private region). My doctor told me to have intercourse, sex, or whatever because the semen ripens the cervix and blah, blah. He also said that if I had an orgasm, it would cause uterine contractions. So I've been taking advantage of my husband for the past few days! Don't worry...that baby will come when he/she is ready!

Let me tell you the only thing that may help is s3x. Semen causes the cervix to ripen and it can help. Other than that there is no proven, approved method for starting contractions. As for the baby being less active let your Dr. know but I wouldn't worry too much as long as every hr you feel some movement. Do not try excessive walking or taking castor oil or any of that other stuff it may do harm to you or your baby.

You should still be feeling 10 movements from your baby per hour. Movements may become different, as there is less room for the baby to move, but any decrease in movements should be reported to your Dr. asap. I have had 3 children, and none of them stopped moving or slowed their movements down. Every baby usually has their own level of activity..some are more wiggly and active. Any variance to your baby's normal movement is something that needs to be checked out. I am including some links to back up what I am telling you, because it is NOT normal for your baby to stop moving or hardly move at any time during your pregnancy.

One of the best things is to walk...of course doctors say sex works too. Yes the baby will become a little less active as you get closer to delivery. My youngest had hiccups all the time.. Sounds like things are going well for you.

Sex sex sex and sex. Make sure your partner (assuming you have one) ejaculates inside of you though because his semen is what will cause your cervix to ripen.

You can also use a breastpump and stimulate your nipples. It releases oxytosin (spelling?) and will cause contractions.

Walk walk walk walk. Walking helps bring the baby down into the pubic bone and presses against the cervix which will help dilation. Just make sure you don't tire yourself too much becuase it would really suck being in labor and having no energy.

Good luck!!

Yes, the baby will tend to be less active... and to get the contractions going... walk... it's the best thing in the world!! Go to the mall... anywhere... just walk.

You still have 3 weeks to go. You shouldn't be doing anything to induce your own labor at this point. You also should be counting your baby's movements, feeling at least 4 in an hour, and yes, hiccups count as movement.

As long as it has not stopped moving entirely, you shouldn't be alarmed. If you are concerned, call your obstetrician, don't take advice from the internet!
