How do I know what type of sound card I have? I'm clueless with computers! I do have cd from Dell that is titled " drivers and utilities" but in the description it says it's for reinstalling v.92.56k telephony, data/fax/voice modem software for microsoft windows. And the contents says? Drivers, diagnostics and utilities, online documentation, phone tools fax software and modem on hold. Is this the cd I need? ????????

I had a dell also and what you need to do is reinstall the drivers... You should have a cd with all the drivers on it that came with your computer

Yeah, you definatly need the sound card driver. These are usually available through the Dell website, in your case. Also, you could check the website of the manufacturer of the sound card in your computer.

that should do the trick

Dell provide reasonably good support for their
computer hardware.

Check your model against those listed on the Dell
Support site, link below. They should have all the
details that you require, to put back whatever drivers
may be missing.

you have to load the sound card driver back on, it sould be on a disc that came with your computer, or search for Dell Drivers and look for your model and download it from them.

do you have the CD driver installation? if you have one, you can install the audio driver from that cd. if you lost your cd, then you need to know your soundcard type. and then download the driver from the internet.
