My retarded former roommate's retarded dog had a pissing problem and my retarded roommate had a problem about taking him out. The stupid rat mut would pee what looked like highlighter fluid out. To make things worse is when you got to catch him pee'n he'd run still pee'n. I can't afford to replace my carpet and I'm renewing the lease at the condo and he's gone now. Skipped town to run back home to mommy in MO leaving me with the mess to clean. Urine be gone or whatever its called from bed bath and beyond made things WORSE the stupid light picked up stains that i couldn't see so i sprayed them and now you can see the stain. Whats the best stuff? Resolve didn't touch the stain I had some luck with Pets an Kids stuff from K-Mart but its still not good. I heard that if you use a steam cleaner it can bake the stain in if it doesn't remove it and I don't want to risk testing the myth from facts on that one just yet.

You can try White vinegar to neutralize the urine ( dont worry the smell will dissipate in a few hours.)
I'm wondering are you only cleaning the spots or have you cleaned the entire area? If the entire carpet hasn't been cleaned in a while the spots you have cleaned are going to stand out like a neon sign.
If you want to do it your self rent and EXTRACTION machine at the local grocery store, most will have special detergents for pet stains available. and this will cost around $50
But your best bet is to hire a company to clean your carpets, they have access to chemicals that are not available to the public, and they can work wonders. Normally you can get 3 rooms done for around $100.
