Basically, she is showing breeding colors... trying to get his attention. It's a sign you have a healthy and well conditioned betta there. Good fish keeping!

it really is a not uncomplicated question to respond to. lots of the time Betta habit is not uncomplicated to predict. I actually have owned 2 betta's in my existence, one ate the shrimp and one did not. woman bettas have a tendency to be really a lot less aggressive than the lads and are a lot less vendors to attack randomly for no surely objective. If I had to wager, i ought to assume that they'll be o.ok.. both way, there is not any surely damage in attempting to position ghost shrimp contained interior the tank, both they'll eat it, or they received't eat it, and also you'll in straight forward words be out $.29. seem at it this kind, in case you drop some contained interior the tank and the betta's do come to a call that they choose a snack, a minimum of they have been given a delectable meal.

When female bettas are afraid, they turn a darker colour. I think you've got them both in the same tank. You should separate them. A female betta should only be introduced into the male tank when she is laden with eggs for the duration of the mating only. After mating, the male will harass the female to the point of killing her if necessary. He will take care of the eggs and the young fry when they hatch.

Female bettas show two different kinds of stripes.
When they are stressed, usually a fear response, they show horizontal stripes from eye to tail. When they are full of eggs and ready to mate, they show vertical stripes, usually within view of a male.

Um... i hope that they aren't in the same bowl because that is soooo dangerous. They don't call the Siamese Fighting Fish for nothing. She's probably about to attack! If they are in the same bowl take them out and separate them ASAP! If they are not, good for you and just let them get used to each other. Good Luck!
