Affirmations work, if you believe them. For example:
I am a good , kind and decent person.
Think it. Act it. Be it.

Social Psychology has proven through many tests that subliminal messages do not work in terms of advertising. I don't know of any tests that have been done to test subliminal messages on the individual for self-improvement.

Yes they do work! There has been studies in the past that have proved that they do work. After these studies, subliminal messages have been used in publicity, marketing, etc. It works because it is subliminal, which means you don't realize you are seeing a subliminal message. I doubt it would work if you experiment subliminal messages consciously.

There are many talking books at the book store or download them from a music site.
They are like hypnotism but with subliminal talk embedded.
They could work depending on the person.

subliminal messages have never been used for good, and i suspect that it is unlikely that they ever will.

Absolutely. People do it all the time by listening to certain tapes as they sleep.
