I went to No Way Out in 04 and it seemed a lot slower in person and not having annoucers guide me through the match confused things too.

I've been to numerous live events, both pay-per-view and house shows, for World Championship Wrestling, WWF/WWE and TNA as well as independent companies. It really depends on the event.

Pay-Per-View events are usually better to watch in person than, say, Monday Night Raw, because there are no commercial breaks. You see the action unfold just as the people watching on television see it. Thanks to the video screens in the arena, you're also able to see the action backstage as well.

LIVE television shows are usualy pretty exciting to attend, a Smackdown taping is no where near as exciting as a live broadcast of RAW.

House shows (non-televised events) are usually the worst WWE (and in years past WCW) events to watch in person. It does not take much to figure out that no titles will change hands and that there will be no major or even minor developments as far as the story goes.

If you're not up to date on what's going on with the company you may find yourself lost at any live event. However, in the end wrestling is wrestling. Some matches will be good, others will be bad.

I've been to a few shows and a Royal Rumble.

The feel of the wrestling action is the same to me. It is a bit surreal without voice over commentary.

I love hearing the entrance music cranked over the speakers. I can live without all the opening pyros to start the shows... way too noisy.

The worst is the people with the signs. If I paid more money to get a ring level seat, I want to see the match. Nothing ruins that more than people in front of you holding up their signs constantly during the matches. Before and after is okay, but some people take it to an extreme.

Its been a while, but I have gone to WWE events live. I saw some Smackdown tapings, some untelevised events, and even one pay per view event. It is a whole different experience. On the negative side, you miss some of the commentary and my view wasn't as great (higher up seats). On the plus side, the stars would do a lot of after-show entertaining as a bonus for the fans. If you have a chance to watch it live, it is worth it to try once or twice because you can say you were there. Some PPVs are worth $40, but when they are having one every month I would say not, because you can just catch up on the next televised taping. The thing that bugs me about PPVs is that you know a lot of the major events are saved for those, so not as much happens on the regular programming. Like I said though, I haven't watched recently so maybe that changed.

I've watched a few house shows before and I never missed the color commentary.

Also, my first house show was the night I realized wrestling was fake. Actually it was the next night when I was watching a televised event and they rehashed the same card and angles. And no, it was not the show I went to see that was broadcast.

I have been to many wrestling events, and no, I do not miss the commentators at all. I understand what is going on without any problem. Wrestling is just as fake watching it live as it is watching it on the telly. When you go live, you can shout and holler at the wrestlers and they can hear what you have to say about them, providing they even care.

i hav been to wrestlemania 17, 18, 19, 20 and i have been to a raw live show.it is not like seeing a play. even my friend said that when he went to a lie show he got to touch the undertaker. people are saying that wrestling is real it is just the television that makes it look fake.

I thought I might have that problem with it before I started going, but no, if anything I like it better live. Those announcers don't say much that you can't figure out on your own.

i have seen wwe live at the first arena in elmira, new york; in a match between ( randy orton vs. rey mysterio). it was more fun to see wwe live in person. also you can give the wrestlers you don't like some words. by the way mysterio won.
