You may have pulled a muscle. I'm not a Dr, but if it really bothers you, you may want to take a trip to E.R.

If it is hot or red and hot get to your Dr. ASAP. It could be an embolism. If it is muscular put cold pack, ice on it for a few days. 20 min. on then hour off to prevent freezing. then on 2nd day use hot packs. Heat up a sock filled with rice in the microwave for 2 mins. and let stay on until cool. do not burn yourself, microwaves differ. Take advil every 6 hrs. and elevate it whenever possible. It could be a pulled muscle if it's not hot or red....please don't delay if it is and you didn't hurt it in any way because this is dangerous and your MD can make that diagnosis as well as a muscle problem, not an Orthopedic. They are only if it's a serious bone problem, why spend the money? Hope it's a muscle...if the advil and other treatment helps give it a few weeks to heal...a sprain takes at least 6 weeks to improve. So, be patient.

Welcome to the world of pulled hamstrings

it just takes time to heal so you dont want to reinjure it by to much activity. It has to heal.
