My ibm thinkpad t41s keyboard is out of sync. How do I fix it?

What do you mean 'out of sync'. Are you hitting some letters and getting numbers instead? Do they happen to be the same numbers that are printed on those letter keys? In that case, turn off the numlock. Press shift, numlock.
