It is located under the passenger side dash you need to remove the foot gard its held in by plastic pins you will need a pear of pliers the resister is left of the fan motor you will need a ratchet 1/4 inch or a screw driver that has adapter on it so you can put a socket on it if you use the ratchet you will need a extension it has three screws holding it in place brass colored one of them is very difacolt to get at so you well need patience if you cant get at it just pull real hard it may brake the old one but its junk any way i was able to leave the screw in place becuse the new one is notched not a hole you well slide the new one in to the screw that you cant retch first then install the other two scews your done put the foot gard back in place do be careful not to damage the porclin part of the resister it is fradgle

Wrong, wrong and wrong.
This vehicle does have a resistor. It is next to the blower under the dash against the firewall. Follow the blower wires to the resistor. The screws have 5.5mm heads and are a biotch to get to. The resistor is foil on a ceramic board and they go bad quite often. Oh yes there is no soldering involved. I cannot believe the advice some people give here. Like they think they know what they are talking about!!

There is no such a thing on that model. What you have is a control module inside right below the glove box that turns on and off the Vent air to heater, defrost Ac and so on. Remove the glove box. Youl see it there with its control arm attached to various baffles. That has gone bad. Go to junk yard and get this module for about $20 or so. . Careful, GM made a bunch that look alike. You can go to the Delco site and get the module # for your exact car and buy a new one for about $150.

That above module controls a second module right on center of firewall just above the engine. That thing never goes bad. For sure its that module right under glove box as above.

I bought a module on Ebay recently for $10 for a 1989 Cad Deville that turned out OK too.

Your heater blower motor is plugged into the resister trio. The problem is more than likely in the three speed switch in the dash.

What you do is get the Haynes Repair Manual at Auto Zone, or another automotive repair shop. There you can see what has to be done.

That would typically be on the fan motor itself.
So you would have to change the motor or find the bad resistor and solder it on.
