I raised two teenage sons and so here goes:
Clothes-if it's dirty, put it in the dirty clothes hamper. If the clothes are clean, hang them up. Get rid of stuff that you don't need. Take everything out of your closet and throw away or give to charity anything you haven't worn in a year or clothes that don't fit. Buy see through plastic boxes for your shoes and label them.
Dust and vacuum once a week and make up your bed daily.
I hope this helps.

1. Chuck out all the stuff you don't need. There's sure to be plently of that.
2. "Export" things to other rooms. Sometimes you end up with junk from all around the house that can be put elsewhere.
3. Have piles of categorized stuff. Eg. CDs, spare paper, finance papers, study stuff.
4. You might wanna get a filing system. Either a cabinet or smaller portable one.
5. Do it on a day when it's not too hot or cold and you are comfortable. Do lots of cleaning at once then sit back as you admire your work.
6. Don't put clothes on the floor. Just don't let them even touch the floor!
etc.. etc..

Get your room clean. Then every morning when you wake up, make your bed and every evening, spend 15 minutes on your room. It will stay clean. After awhile, you will look forward to cleaning your room, you will also enjoy waking up in a clean, clutter free room. Good Luck! =0)

a place for everything, and everything in its place. Believe it or not its that simple. Take the time to map out what you want your room to do and then decide what storage you need. You dont need to spend alot of money, sometimes you can just camoflage cans and boxes with craft paint or stuff to make it look like things you like.

Downsize the amount of stuff you have. Designate a place to all of your belongings and make a committment to put things in their place after you use them.
