oh i wonder that too its anoying huh. well i read an article where they interviewed her. she said that it was not on the scrip of the movie for him to do that so he just slam the jewelry box spontanious and the cameras where rolling so all she did was giggle like crazy, because they needed the camers to keep on rolling. so at the end the director liked it so he didnt edit it out of the movie.

Well....Richard Gere makes like the box is alive and snapping at her fingers because she becomes mesmerized at the beauty of the necklace displayed in front of her eyes! So he takes the opportunity to freak her for a second ....Get it???

the producers loved the honest reaction and decided to leave it in movie
