Okay...so I'm on birth control, and I've been taking it everyday at the same time for a few months, but this month I have became a little lazy because my boyfriend and I are getting married soon, and I haven't been taking my birth control at the same time everyday like..sometimes I'll take it at 9am..and sometimes at like 11pm, and once I missed a day. I know we're young and everything and don't need a kid right now, so do you think having done this increased my chances any?

as long as you are taking it everyday, one skipped day isn't going to hurt, neither is varying times. I would advise you to stop being sloppy though if you don't want kids yet! They mostly tell you to take it at the same time every day so you will remember to take it. Good advice!

Mel:

Yes you are indulging in a game of Russian Roulette here, It's OK to vary the time by an hour or so, but the idea is to keep the level of the hormone at its highest. Missing a pill is not always a problem, but once again it depends on when intercourse last took place and when it might again. Sperm will live for 7 days, so can you see what might happen here in missing that pill after the day before yesterdays episode.

Try and be more consistent with your rimes of taking it, say at Tea Time or even Breakfast as a ritual.

Despite the marriage on the horizon, you want that dress to fit and you don't want nausea on the honeymoon, so be good and get into a better habit.

I know there are some pills that require you to take them at the same time every day. I am not sure which one you are on, but would check it out. I know that most pills it doesn't matter what time of day you take it. Personally I did the same thing for a long while in the past and made no difference. Missing pills can be more risky. I wouldn't worry to much as although there is a chance it is very low and depending on the pill you can take two the next day to catch up.

Yes, it can increase your chances. That's why they tell you take it at the same time and such. I would get a blood pregnancy test from the doctor... just in case you are pregnant you don't want to keep taking the pill. If you are not, I would suggest getting back on track with the pill, or trying a different method like the patch or depo shot. Good luck.

Yes it increases your chances. Every nurse I have ever talked to says take it every day within the same hour. So if you decide to take it at night at 9 pm try not to take it any later than 10.

If you miss one I would suggest condoms for a week or two (you would need to talk with a nurse about that to get a more precise time frame).

Yes.. first off not taking it at the same time everyday makes the pill less effective, your body is expecting that pill at the same time everyday.. then missing just one pill can get you pregnant... so even if you took the pill the day before and slept with you fiance the same night.. the next night without that pill can still cause you to get pregnant b/c sperm can live in your body up to 5 days....

Yes; you are supposed to take the pill at the same time every day (or w/in 3 hours). You very well could get pregnant.

I suppose it depends on the individual person and your body, but I've never taken mine at the same time every day. Usually around the same time but never exact and I've never had a problem. I've been on it for nine years and I've always taken it this way. I've even accidentally skipped a day, even two and three. I just take them when I realize I've forgotten. Like I said, it could be different for you though.

Birth control is only 97% effective as it is... so if you've increased your chances you've probibly only increased it by like 0.5%... what it does increase though is your chances of spotting early and having cramps and other things as a result of hormone fluctuations.

it incredibly is feasible that climaxing at the same time could help because of the fact they contractions in the girl's physique could help propel the sperm greater into the physique. it incredibly is not a undeniable factor, however, and it incredibly is not mandatory to climax at the same time with the intention to get pregnant. Climaxing till now has no longer been shown to have any effect on being pregnant.
