whats haruka mean in english? Also can someone give me other good words in japanese spelt in English? I am writing a story and I am trying to think of a Clan name. So far I thought of one Clan called the Kanata Clan but I need some more names to use. thanx ppl

Haruka is a popular girls name.
haru means spring.
A good name? What about Tanaka or Saito, then everyone can relate ^_^

If it's a name and depending on the kanji, the meaning differs. Could be: The scent of spring Spring flower The song of the sun Etc If the adjective, it means far away (either in time or space.)

actually there are many ways to spell haruka in kanji so i can't tell you the exact definition of the word (name), but usually 'haru' would be spelled '春' which means spring, and 'ka' would be spelled either '香' which means smell/scent or '華' which means flower/glamorous.
i don't know if these would fit your clan name, but here are some suggestion..
haruna, serina, arisa, masumi, anna, marika, shiho, kazumi
