The limit for a 1099-Misc is $600. If you are incorporated, then you do not get a 1099.

1099-misc is issued to any non incorporated entity (individual, sole proprietor, partnership, LLC) that is paid more than $600 in a calendar year. Although 1099s are due to the payee by 1/31, they are not due to the government until 2/28.

The limit is $600.00 if you did $999 worth of work for ONE company...they owe you a 1099 MISC form. They are supposed to send those out by 1/31. You should try and get one, if for no other reason than to make sure that they don't over report what they paid you...because that could cause you a problem.
