there are various scams yet no longer something too excessive whilst in comparison with Indonesia or the Philippines, as an occasion. the biggest single scam in HK is the sale of pirated products. Many manufacturers of outfits, CDs, DVDs, pc video games, rings, watches, even electronics like cellular telephone batteries, may well be bought to you as "actual" and at actual (i.e. costly) expenditures - yet they are going to be fakes. basically some shops are cheating however; many different shops will brazenly promote those products as fakes very affordably. some bars (particularly the "girly" bars around the Wan Chai section) will attempt to tear-off you on your bill too. in lots of bars in HK you do no longer pay on your drinks each and every time you purchase one - they'll immediately run a tab and would charge you for all your drinks on the top of the nighttime. Assuming you would be below the impact of alcohol, they in some cases attempt to slide one or 2 extra drinks onto the bill. In some bars they'll positioned slips of paper right into a plastic tumbler interior the process the table each and every time you order drinks - once you call for the bill, be confident to count quantity those slips of paper your self *formerly* the bar worker takes them away to tally up. different than that, HK is a reasonably regulation-abiding place. get excitement from your holiday!
