Regretably, I think he did lie to Congress. Petitte is a man of good character who claims Clemens did use steroids/HGH. I don't think he would deliberately attack Clemens' character because they are actually considered friends.Petitte is a moral guy, a Christian, who refused NOT to tell the truth. From his testimony, it is highly likely that Roger did use and did so for a few seasons. Jose Canseco claims Clemens didn't use. I wouldn't consider him a very good character witness. If convicted, Roger will go to jail for 6 months, and that's it. The worst punishment received will be not to be voted into the HOF. Imagine a 7-time Cy Young winner not in the Hall? What a terrible legacy to leave for fans everywhere.
