I live not far from Mexia, and I think the townsfolk there should be embarrassed by how they are acting. Anna MADE this town famous...period! They need to step off thier "high and mighty pompous horse" and show some compassion. This is a very poor, rural area and I do remember back when she made it big...everyone bragged that she put Mexia on the map. Yes, I agree she has made some bad choices, but haven't we all? I for one am sick and tired of how some of the holier than art though residents are acting...and lest we not forget, it has been a media circus here since the tragedy...and with all the journalists and news people around, thier money has been spent in this town...thus supporting the local economy. A bunch of hypocrites if you ask me, and I am glad I am in a neighboring town...and many of these townsfolk really should look into thier own backyard before casting stones..and I certainly don't mind telling them so in person myself :)

What I heard from the town was that they were saddened and that no one deserved to die at 39 years old.

The reports that I heard was that everyone missed her and no one was saying that she was an embarrassment. She wanted more than the town could offer, but in the long run she wished she was still the girl working at the Krispy Chicken Restaurant.

She wanted to be rich and famous, but if she had it to do all over again, she would've given it all up to be a nobody.

I think all the stress finally got to her. If she knew how to go back to being a nobody she would've, but it was too late. She was a very unhappy person.

I disagree with them and felt sad when I read that today. Shame on them. This was a troubled person that was seeking love. As far as so many commenting on her marrying the billionaire, she probably kept a huge smile on his face for his final year life. I feel sad for the situation and hope her daughter will be able to overcome all of this one day. I think Stern has alot to do with it all and hope they will invesigate but I hope the media lets this woman rest in peace.

I do not think she held the values that town possessed. They were not proud of a stripper, nor of a girl that married an old man, nor one that acted like a drunk retard.

Yeah, I can understand why.
