Oh, not true my friends! The questioner is correct. When you buy oven mitts, all too often you get two right handed gloves and no left handed ones. The super secret silvery stuff, whatever it is, is only on the one side so if you turn one glove over for your left hand, you give that extra protection to the back of it, while your right hand works in comfort and security.

Whatever had led companies to think this is a good idea is beyond me - it almost HAS to be the result of a re-engineering program or a six-sigma project. Further, it proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that true, honest competition in these United States is a thing of the past. If there were REAL competition in the market place, someone would be out there selling piles and piles and piles of oven mitts for BOTH hands.

All the oven mits I've ever seen are like giant mittens ... if you want to put em on the other hand, you turn em over. They're not designated for one hand or the other.

What kinda oven mits have you had that only work for righties?

Look at oven mitt..... it fits easily on the right hand. Take it off, turn it over an walla! It's a lefthanded mitt! Even the super expensensive silicon ones are designed for both hands. Simple as that.
