Wow, you have a very good head on your shoulders and are very smart for your age! Good for you. I completely agree, but unfortunately it's something i don't think we can ever change as much as we want to. Skin color has NOTHING to do with how a person acts or thinks, we are all human with different appearances so why are we judging people by the color? It's nice to know there are still people out there who don't think like that though. I can't decide if over the years racism is getting better or worse.

Yes, and customarily more. I get delicate racism at work. Suppose about being a senator. You might not get some bills earlier motive of your race. I know you right here people saying "its now not cool to vote for your baby-kisser just motive hes black". That is hilarious. Why no person cared about this before reason all the president candidates have been the equal colour. I doubt that was coincidence, simply saying. It simply took that lengthy for humans to accept a black president. Hell, his whole time in place of work earlier than president he was black/muslim etc. Now, hes halfblack. White humans normally want to slide that half in there now that he's president to make it sound better as to if reason hes half of white its kinda okay he received. Would you assume those rich white people set of their approaches not rather having to do maintain black people on how they might act. I am sure his race got here into consideration plenty of instances. Even recognize quite a few white men and women do not like thim motive hes black. Edit: but its k for humans to say verbally they do not need hilary running their country cause shes a lady.

Bravo to you i think you have asked an intelligent question. You probably already know that racial hatred is learned and not passed down. Here is my thought about hatred: I will hate someone if and only if that person has done something to me or to someone I love. I will not base my hatred on skin color or different culture or even religious beliefs. I will base my hatred on what someone does to me. About the African-American thing I wonder- why they use that term when a very good percentage of blacks in the US were not born in Africa, and have never been to Africa. And why , if i choose to use the "N" word it makes me out to be a racist but its perfectly acceptable for them to call each other the "N" word. I dont use that word by the way,but I was just wondering. There are good people and there are bad people of every nationality and skin color. Now my family never owned slaves and yes it was a tragic and sad time in our history but I am not responsible and I refuse to feel guilty or responsible for something I had nothing to do with. And I wont be made to feel guilty about it just because I am white.. I had an uncle in the KKK
but I didn't know about it until after he got drunk and crashed his car and died. This was many years ago, I was a teenager when I found out and I could not for the life of me bring myself to mourn his passing. I was ashamed of him. My only thought was 'how can people be so ignorant?" I hope you continue to believe in what is right. Please dont learn this hatred from your father. He is just misguided and quite frankly he is wrong. I wish I could have given a better answer but racial hatred will be with us always and we can only fight it one day at a time and one person at a time. Remember there is no superior race- we're all messed up to one degree or another and all we have is whatever we percieve to be a Supreme Being and each other..and its so easy to hate but that means we have chosen the path of least resistance. We find it easier to hate than to take the time to get to know someone and find out what they are really about.

The races come from a different genetic stock, but yes, a similar evolutionary process has made us all human. Where do you see the physical resemblence in Shaquille O'neal and George Bush? You don't, because they come from different races. Each race will have attributes positive and negative, when you mixed them up you usually get a more superior being because they will have the natural selection of a broader gene pool. You are 13 and you have much to learn. But you are correct that r a c i s m is not right.

Just be glad that you have the common sense to think for yourself rather than follow your father's belief.
Historically it is the legacy of America. Europeans have always had an attitude that their society was superior to others. That is how they were able to justify enslaving Africans, colonizing Asia and taking the land from the Native Americans.
BTW, the Irish (the No Nothings battered them), Jews, Hungarians, Chinese, Catholics and Italians (basically any Eastern Europeon) were looked down upon in America. And still are in certain circles. Look up the terminology for WASP.
You really need to read up on the immigrant experience in America.
And for the person who mentioned Harlem in NYC. Whites pay 3x's what Blacks and Latinos pay to live in the same apartment building with us, and beg to get in our buildings.

Racism isn't based on any facts. Its irrational and emotional by nature. Its usually passed down to children from their families so you're lucky to break that chain.
By the way racism isn't a one way street. There are a lot of black racists too. Somehow that doesn't seem to matter for some reason. Whitey, honkey, The Man and many more are all common racial slurs.
