Clearly one of the, if not best, rivalry in all of college basketball. It depends on which team you favor more if you are wanting to decide who is best. Because each year the teams are going to vary in how good they are. Look at some of the stats though:

Both sides have had great histories with great players and excellent coaches. I give the advantage to UNC because they have had more national titles, and Dean Smith is 2nd on the career wins for men's college basketball. I think they have also had more notable players in the past.

Why do people keep asking this question? The people that answer are either pro-Carolina or pro-Duke, or anti-Carolina or anti-Duke. It's your decision, but from what it seems like, you're either trying to confirm what you already believe or you are not pulling for either one and are just bored. This is an opinion based question, so why bother?
btw, I am an extreme Tarheel fan, but that comes with being a student.

UNC leads the all-time head-to-head series with Duke 126-96.
Duke has won three NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championships
16 Atlantic coast conference champs
Unc won 4 national championship
15 Atlantic Coast Conference tournament championships
all in all unc has more naiton championships, and out of the head to head series has won more games

tarheels are actual extra effective than blue devils, they were given hansbrough, who does duke have....? no man or woman, they'll be fortunate to make the experience next three hundred and sixty 5 days. .....---flow florida state!!!

Tar heels are a better team this year, Duke has a lot of potential but doesn't know how to use it.
