Many states have different so-called grandparent laws. The question is whether the US Supreme court considers them to be constitutional or not. At least once, the Supreme court ruled in favor of the parent, basically that a FIT PARENT has the right to raise their child, without state interfering in family disputes. We would all love to think that all grandparents are warm, loving cookie bakers, but the truth is that they are NOT. There are times when a rational parent will (sadly) face that the grandparent is harmful or interfering with the family.
The operative words in all that, is whether or not the parent is FIT. Obviously not all parents are fit, and there are times when either cps or family can step in. This should be limited to provable abuse or neglect.
It is a sad fact that my daughter's husband was unable or unwilling to admit how dangerous his mother was. The result was that she abducted the children, and committed fraud by claiming to the court that she did so because they were "in danger".
There isn't an "obvious" answer that you are a bad person, and your daughter has a reason. You could be.. and it could also be that your daughter is a spiteful person, who uses the kids as a weapon, for something she is mad at you about. Unfortunately, there is no law against spiteful parents, or spiteful grandparents. She has no legal burden to prove to the court that she has cause to keep you from them. It is her constitutional right.
Run "ohio grandparent rights" through google, and take time to read as many as you can, especially sections that might relate to which conditions MIGHT give you rights to go to court. Keep in mind that unless she is actually harming the child, her parental rights are the legal standard.
