Call up your doctor on Monday morning and ask him/her to explain all this to you. They should have explained it to you after the ultrasound.

The first thing you need to think about before panicking is - how far along do the docs say you are? I went for an ultrasound at 6 weeks and all they could see was a sack as well. Apparently the baby was too small at that early point to be visible through ultrasound. Now I am 40 weeks pregnant and baby is healthy as can be. I would confirm how far along before jumping to conclusions. I'm sorry for your loss of your stillborn child as well. Keep positive and prayers are with you!

How far along do you believe you are?

I have a tilted uterus and my babies show up with a transvaginal ultrasound between 8 1/2 to 9 weeks. We knew our dates without a doubt and it would have been impossible to have conceived later and yet the transvaginal ultrasound (the internal one) showed an empty sac at 5 1/2, 6, 7 and even 8 weeks.

If you go to www.misdiagnosedmiscarriage.com you'll be able to see that many women are further along than 8 weeks before they can see their babies. Of course blighted ova are common but so are empty sacs.

Now, if you don't even show a gestational sac, then you may either be not as far along as you think or be at risk for an ectopic pregnancy. So stay monitored.

I hope this helps.

I lost three babies to miscarraige and had a chemical pregnancy. With my last pregnancy I started bleeding at 5 weeks and I went to the hospital. They told me the was empty and I was miscarrying. I was scheduled to see my dr in 2 days. For some reason I didn't feel like I was losing my baby and I prayed really hard. Everyone prayed. I wanted a baby so much and I just couldn't believe this was happening to me again. The night before I prayed that my baby was okay and not only was the baby measuring well there was a heartbeat. So keep the faith, pray hard and I wish you the very best of luck

I suggest you go to a fertility specialist. I had a lot of trouble getting pregnant and after one miscarriage, I did get pregnant. Strangely enough, even when I was 8 months pregnant and my ultrasound clearly showed I was pregnant, it never showed in my urine. I had to have blood tests early on to confirm pregnancy. Our bodies don't always do what doctors are familiar with.

I am sorry for your loss in October. It is hard to lose something you have wanted for so long.

Be blessed and don't give up. I will pray for you.

Any earlier than 8 weeks it is difficult to see the fetus on the ultrasound b/c it is so small. Just seeing a sac this early is very common. I hope everything goes well for you this time, and I am sorry for the loss you experienced last year. God bless you.

The reason they only saw a sac was because you're too early pregnant for a embryo or fetus to be seen. I assume you're between 6 and 8 weeks pregnant. At my 6 weeks ultrasound they only saw a sac, but they weren't concerned. Just relax and continue to pray.

I went to my ob/gyn as we talk and that i'm 5 weeks, 3 days pregnant. He advised me to attend till eventually i change into 8 weeks so the toddler will be seen and lets listen the pulse. He reported that at this aspect the toddler is a lengthy way too small to be considered. As for the recognizing a tremendous variety of girls human beings have it even as pregnant. once you're well being care specialist advised you no longer something about the recognizing then you definately shouldn't hassle. sturdy success with each little thing.

If they say you are pregnant but nothing but only the sack appears on an ultrasound it is best to assume you are not pregnant. I would wonder why they didn't tell you this. What did they tell you at the end of your visit. If you don't feel your Dr was correct or didn't do his job properly you should perhaps see another one to be sure. I hope things work out for you.
