There was a referance by the king, "If only your mother was alive to see this"--so I assume that she's dead but, the movie doesn't say how . Write disney and ask for the bio.

If you'll notice the slight Disney trend....Cinderella, Ariel, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Pinocchio, Belle, and Nemo all grew up with no mention of their moms. I can't explain it.

Disney characters don't have mothers or they have evil mothers. Walt had a mother problem, I think. Think about it, Bambi(mother killed), Snow White (no mother) Cinderella (no mother) Sleeping Beauty (wicked stepmother) Little Mermaid (no mother) Mickey (no mother) Huey, Dewey and Luey (no mother) Dumbo (crazy mother), Beauty and the Beast (no mother) Rose Red (no mother) Seven Dwarfs (no mothers). Just try and think of one good kind mother in Disney pictures.

Walt Disney killed her.
He was fishing off the coast of Florida during the construction of Disney world there, and hooked and reeled her mother up.
She was rolled in breadcrumbs, served on a bed of lettuce and garnished with lemon wedges.

Most likely she is dead. I think she was probably killed by the humans. Thats why King Trident hates humans. It would explain that.
