Yahoo once had a survey on what rich people buy. I can understand the yacht, the second house, even the jet and/or helicopter. But $100,000 for a wrist watch? At that price, it better do something amazing. They do not; just tell time. I know watches are status symbols, especially for men, like designer purses are for women, but I think someone is getting "shafted" when they spend $100,000 for a watch, no matter what the metal is or how many jewels it has.

Once someone explained to me the reason a Rolex was so valuable and better than other watches that tell time but I don't remember what it was since I could never requre the infrmation. However, he did say that he had inherited the watch from his father to whom it was willed by an employer. I suppose if a watch will last serveral gernerations it might be worth $100,000.

That's so ridiculous. How about taking that money they spent on a yacht, a second house and a jet and giving it to charity? Maybe breast cancer research.
