I dont know if you had see it but avery good movie and kind similar to U-turn (an excellent movie by the way) is one called SPURN with Jhon Leguizamo and Mira Sorvino....

Not that similar but around that time I remember watching Truth or Consequences, NM and things to do in Denver When you are Dead. They are both good.

U-Turn was awesome.I cannot recommend anything similar because U-Turn was fairly unique.
