On all of the computer accessories I look at they say "windows 98, windows xp compatible". Does that mean they will work with Windows Vista as well, but that it just isn't listed because it's newer? Wireless mouse and keyboard are what I'm looking for. Some recommendations for those would be good too...I want a mouse with function buttons on the thumb side.

Ok, thanks everyone for the great advice. I think I found out what I can do. The wireless desktop I want is the Microsoft Wireless Laser 6000. I can get a driver from the Microsoft site, that is for Windows Vista. I already tried it and I think it will work out.

This hard to say. I would assume a Keyboard and Mouse may be plug and play with Vista. But, it no guarantee. So, I really not want to mislead you. I see if I can find you a link.

Here are combos of both;
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp?DEPA=0&type=&Description=wireless+keyboard+and+mouse&Submit=ENE&N=0&Ntk=all
Sort by how you want, I look low to high price. When you click on then Name and Model it take you to the next page and on right look for specifications. Some not mention Vista and some not mention any OS.
Under the picture on second page look for Maufactures Product Page and click, you may learn more.
There many to look at, but, I set a price limit and that as far as I will look.

Most software that works on XP will work on Vista. Some device drivers still need to be written for some hardware, but don't worry. Vista will be the dominate operating system with time, so all your stuff should work. If you are considering buying software, chances are that it will work on Vista.

chances are that if it dosent say that its compatible with vista then it isnt, because if the product isnt new enough to say its compatible wiht vista then it was probably made before they knew about vista technology.
