You could go one of several ways, stay at a place like the Barbary Coast that's right in the center of the strip. This way you're close to a lot of the major strip hotels. Or you could choose to stay at a property like the MGM, that has literally everything on property that you could possible want.

Have you considered staying downtown on Fremont Street? The Golden Nugget is a very nice 4 star hotel, and the way things are set up downtown it's very easy to get from one hotel to another. My favorite hotel downtown is Main Street Station, but it might be a little inconvenient for you, since it's 2 blocks from the main hotel cluster on Fremont street.

I know it's not on the strip but one of my favorite hotels in LV is the Orleans...you might take a look and see what you think

Las vegas really goes out of it's way to accommodate everyone. At the two main intersections(Flamingo & LV Blvd S) & (Tropicana & LV Blvd S) plus down by the North end of the Venetian they have "sky walks" over the intersection so that people don't have to cross the street any more. The sky walks have both escalators and elevators for easy access..

Barbary Coast sits right on the corner of Flamingo and LV Blvd S & MGM sits right at Tropicana and LV Blve S is one reason I suggested these two. The other is they are both great hotel/places to stay. For vastly different reasons of course.

My folks are celebrating #54 this year, Mom gets around the house pretty good, but she needs a chair if there is going to be much walking involved. In LV there is lots of walking involved with most anything you do. A "small" hotel like the Orleans with "only" 1900 rooms has a lot of walking, so you can imagine what the hallways(etc) are like in 4,000-6,000 room hotels...

We offered to take them to LV 3 years ago(Dad will not fly). We stayed at the Orleans, just as a thought, when I made reservations I ask if they could put them in a room close to the elevator to cut down on some of the walking. Lets just say the Orleans went way out of their way to take care of them, room next to the elevator, with an awesome view of the strip. No, you could not hear the elevators from the room, there is enough separation between that there is no noise..

Wherever you decide to stay you might ask for the same, I would hope anyplace would be as accommodating. Some of the hallways at some of the mega-resorts are very-very long.

All the major Strip hotels comply with the Federal mandated handicap regulations. Problem can be you guys run into each often enough so security watches out for you and us moving targets[lol]
