Who is a better player, Steve Nash or Kobe Bryant?

Firstly, if the question was "who is the more valuable player", then the case for Steve Nash could be justified. But, today, Kobe is a better PLAYER. And its not "just cuz he can score", as although he can definantly score, and moreso than anyone else, he has transformed into a rare player: a team orientated player capable of still dropping 50 on any given night. And to the person who said that kobe can only get 3 or 4 assists, he's averaging 5.5 assists as well as 5.5. rebounds, and close to 29 ppg. And the lakers are enjoying succes that noone predicted, with a team that has an overrall talent level that is far lower than that of the suns (kobe and nash aside). Nash is a great player, no doubt about it, and very valuable to his team, but Kobe is the better player overrall.

it's mamba.. you can just hate all you want, but it's the truth.. the punishing attacks from inside and out, the way he defends, the open-court vision, he has everything that you would want to have in your arsenal as a player.. you can argue about how nash is a team player, but have you been paying attention this season? so is kobe.. his assist and rebounding numbers are up, and so is his field goal percentage, which usually tends to go down if the dimes go up.. your friend is a moron for just thinking that kobe is simply better because he can score.. nash can score, too.. just not the way kobe can..
kobe is more than just a scoring threat.. he's been great this season as a decoy; he facilitates to what the lakers need.. he can turn it on any time he wants, and he has the ability to get to the line.. when will the hate on this man ever end?

Dude seriouslt none of you guys watch Kobe play that say he just hogs the ball. Kobe Bryant is the best basketball player in the world. If Kobe was such a ballhog he wouldn't be averaging 5.5 apg with such a crappy supporting cast. Kobe is a very underrated passer and he is only known as a ballhog because that's what the media makes him out to be. Kobe is on another level that Steve Nash. First off Steve Nash can't even defend a chair and that there is enough reason for me to put Kobe ahead of Nash. Kobe is a top 3 lock down defender in the league and can play lock down defense on any superstar player. As far as scoring goes, Kobe is the best scorer in the NBA. He has a huge offensive arsenal and can score in multiple ways which is why he rarely has an off night. As far as leadership goes Kobe is on another level. He can take over any game he needs to and almost always plays at his best in the 4th when it matters. He has the 2nd most game winning shots out of active players and is arguably the clutchest player in the league.Steve Nash is clearly the better passer, but Kobe is better at just about everything else. Scoring, rebounding, defense, leadership, clutch abilities, etc. Kobe is better at. Steve Nash has proven he can be a great leader with an already stacked team but what could he do with the lakers? Would he have a team with that crappy of a supporting cast at the top of the West? Hell no. I don't think any player in the NBA could carry a team on their shoulders as well as Kobe can. You guys need to start watching basketball and stop basing everything off of what you hear.

If your asking by being an individual player, I guess its Kobe. Kobe can SCOOORE, score with a capital S! Yes, Nash has been a 2 time(possibly going to have a 3-peat this year), but just try to compare their teams. Nash have been surrounded by great players, Kobe, after the fantastic 4(shaq, kobe, malone, payton) era, has been surrounded by players that are developing and are not really championship material. Yet he plays as a champion. And Kobe plays 2, Nash plays 1.

I love Kobe as a b-ball player but Steve Nash is better because he elevates the level of play of those playing with him. He is the best point guard in the NBA. I wish he would play with the USA Men's Senior Team in the olympics.

Kobe is the better athlete but look at the records and every year nash's team is the highest scoring team and the shoot the best from the field because he sets his teamates up not him self you wont see him score 81 but i have seen his team score that many in a half

pheonix is my 3rd favorite team, so yeahh

but nash can make like almost any shot he wants
and so does kobe but kobe can make the three pointers more because he is taller and more able to do those

kobe has been degraded because some drunk b*tch accused him of raping her.. anyhow, kobe used to be my favorite player. he may be a "ball hog", but hey.. nobody seems to have a problem with lebron james (the forward who brings the ball up everytime). kobe lifts the team up and can score in clutch situations.

nash is assists and scoring, which is very impressive. however, if you look at his teammates : amare stoudamire, barbosa, all the good players, you can see why.

lakers are my favorite team, but after they traded shaq, i dotn really have a fav team.. but in my opinion kobe is a better player.. nash a better point guard

Kobe is better becuz he can shoot and pass just as well, steve nash has assists becuz he has better players on his team unlike kobe. if they were to trade kobe for steve nash, then kobe wud have a lot of assists
