am a chicana born and rise in LA and am proud of my mexican side. and there alot of chicanos that i know that have kids who are chicanos too. so how can you tell the percentage of population in california and the people that left from california?

Every ten years, the US government takes a census of all people here, including their race, ethnicity, and ancestry.

In between these, the census bureau does surveys all the time.

You could find out how many Chicanos are in California at their web site

www.census.gov

I don't get the connection between your question and the rest of what you wrote.

You live in a predominantly Chicano community, and so know a lot of Chicanos, therefore .... ?
