Hamsters have little pockets in their cheeks so when they want to save food, they stuff it in. But I believe that she spits it out on you because she is used to you and she notices that you don't really care so she does it again. But if you do care, I think she just likes you enough to put her precious food on you.

We have 21 hamsters and they do the same thing. They tend to do it when they aren't wanting to be held. When they spit the food out, we just put them back in the cage. The brand of food you feed has nothing to do with this happening.

don't worry about it. I owned a hamster for 2 years and it would fill its mouth with food and go store it somewhere else to eat it later. maybe your hamster is spitting out the food in places where it likes to hang out the most to eat later when it is lying there so it won't have to go back to the bowl.

It's a defense mechanism common in dwarfs. It spits out the food as a distraction for the enemy for it to escape.

each dwarf hamster does that. Is he used to you? if so, he's spitting seeds out of his pouches via fact he could be a sprint scared which you will desire to wreck him. He will possibly no longer believe you sufficient yet. My hamster consistently spits her seeds out. you're feeding her as much as mandatory. good luck!

Hamsters I think like to eat with all four feet on the ground.I don't know but that might be true.

Small animals like Hamsters and mice don't like to be handled or bothered while eating. I am guessing that you are upsetting your hamster and it can't concentrate on its eating. Allow it to eat first, and then play with it...or play with it before it eats....but not while it eats.

Aw...mine doesn't do that. He eats and eats. Just let her be. Maybe she gets bothered. But, I'm glad at least you care enought to ask. Good luck.

She is probably doing this because she feels more alert when you are holding her and how long have you had her. If you just got her she probably doesn't trust you yet.
