That's a difficult question because there may be several reasons. A major cause maybe low self esteem. Some people male and female may feel that sex equates with love and acceptance and that maybe because a parent felt that way or acted that way. Another cause especially for men maybe that they are trying to prove themselves a father figure may have lead them to believe that the way to be a "real man" was to sleep with a lot of women etc etc. Most psychological problems are not simple answers but I hope that helped some.

the same thing that causes any other addiction...
pleasure and positive reinforcement... with a touch of biology swirled in...
and like other addicts, sexual addicts seem to leave a trail of pain behind.

when you are hungry or thirsty you quench them with eating and thrinking but about sex is compeletly reverse and with do it you want more and more. if you want to quitt this addiction that is very easy because this feel is keen only between 5 , 8 min. when this desire starts simply dont attention to it ,only for few min, then you see it will soon disappear. it can to be alive only with your attendance . just stop thinking about that .

i think it is the release of endorphines, it gives you a natural kind of high that is verry hard to resist. the craving for this can be even more overwhelming than that of hard drugs
good look, try finding a hobby to get over it
