The iPod Nano has the same 30-pin universal connector as all of the other iPods except the Shuffle. So provided your speakers aren't made specifically for the Shuffle it'll work.

There are two different ways that you can potentially hook up an iPod to a speaker system: either through the 30-pin dock connector on the bottom or via the headphone jack and into an audio in port. A lot of home iPod speaker systems will charge your iPod if it's connected via the 30-pin connector, but they can't if connected via the headphone jack.
