I'm going to vegas in February and will have a rent a car for 1 day and want to go off the strip for some sightseeing? I have already been to Hoover Damn and don't want to visit again, so I need other options. Anything you can offer will help, including directions on how to get there. Thanks.

Maybe red rock canyon. It's pretty and you can go hiking or rock climbing there if you like that. It's about 15-25 min from the strip. Can't remember the exact directions but its easy enough to find, just ask the concierge. They have a small visitors center there too. Other than that Las Vegas doesn't have a whole lot besides the strip. Mt. Charleston isn't so exciting unless you want to go snowboarding or skiing. You've already seen lake mead if you've been to Hoover Dam. I say stay in the hotel and drink all day.
