I love Van Halen and was too young too really appreciate them back in the day, although my 1st MTV memories are "1984"s videos and DLR's early solo videos. I have all their DLR era albums and can appreciate Hagar's work too, I have "For Unlawful..." too. Ok, I've seen a lot of Dave bashing lately... c'mon his antics made him an awesome frontman. He's done his time, worked as an EMT in NYC and I was disapointed when his radio show was canned. He's shown his serious side, maybe that's why he was cancelled after replacing Stern's immature BS... Anyway, looking for others with good wishes for 'Diamond Dave'

Back in the mid 70's some friends and I went up to LA to check out some bands and by dumb luck saw Van Halen shortly before their first album was released. They were tight and really aggressive on stage. Dave wasn't doing the cornball schtick he got into later. He was a serious powerful guy that owned the stage but wasn't stepping on Eddie who was beyond belief. All the way back to San Diego we were just sayin' they were the best band in the country. I sure hope they actually pull off this reunion tour but Dave is a total egomaniac and has a history of flaking out or running his trap too much and getting the boot. Eddie and Alex aren't into Dave's Mr. Schmucky Showbiz routine and they've dropped reunion plans before.

I'll be surprised if it happens. Eddie hasn't played in years and who knows how much voice Dave's got left. He was one of the best frontmen ever but that was 20 years ago. At least Sammy isn't in it. He had the voice but he was such a tool onstage and the songs lost all their smartass humor when he joined. Good Luck to the three of em.

Yeah, I love when an original lineup gives it another go. Aerosmith came back when they brought both of their guitarists back, and Van Halen will hopefully have a great comeback. Dave was immortalized in '1984' and earlier albums, but I can still appreciate Sammy Hagar stepping into his shoes (I especially love Humans Being!) I respect anyone who has the courage to wear fluffy white Moon Boots (Think 'And the Cradle Will Rock... live performance in England for Top of the Pops) and Dave is no exception. Maybe we'll see a great band rekindle their magic and put aside their differences.

I'd be more excited if it was a "true" Van Halen reunion. But, since Eddie (Control Freak) isn't having Michael Anthony playing bass with them, it won't be worth my money to go see them. Every player on the team is an intricate part to the success of what was Van Halen and until Michael is back with them, they'll never be the same.

"The world is a for-boding cesspool and I'm sailing a yacht through it man!" DLR I think that quote is complete.
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to seeing Dave with the band again. He really brought "fun" to rock and roll, without making it "cheesy". There is another quote by Dave, it says something about Ozzy and all his "scary" music. I like Ozzy, but I always thought that was funny.

Van Halen ironically isn't Van Halen without Dave...their best stuff was with him not without case closed....Dave should work on his people skills but other than that he was their frontman...he was a showman...JUMP on that

DLR has one of my favorite quotes...

"Behind every great man, is a tired woman." Classic!!!
