it is pretty normal for ppl to ridicule intellectuals. i used to be bothered by that...but it didn't work out..and i kinda learned to be okay in my own skin...and i laughed at others when they did something i didn't find normal...

Errrr... Its defo O.K girl, I think if others are trying to put you off by laughing at you then its them thats going to find it hard come exam time ! and then who'll be laughing ?
Dont let some foolish, immature class mates put you off anything that you want to do girl, I think its great that your interested in Science as its gona help you loads in the future... if your good at it that is !
... ps did I read earlier that you was thinking of joining a chess club ? then just do it, again its in your best interests to get the most out of life & especially if your enjoying chess then why not be around other people that enjoy it also !
best a luck

There is nothing wrong with being interested in science. It's great. You'll learn a lot and very likely go on to do important things with your life. I don't know who's laughing - but I think the joke is on them. Everybody has things they are passionate about - and science just happens to be yours! Go for it!

mizz cazzy, i got the answer.. now listen close, this is what you do..
dont worry about them.. stay interested in science, and go to college, and become like a doctor or something like that, and make a bunch of money..
and after you make your first couple million, first give me some, then go to the bank and get a bunch of cash, and make a large pile of it in one of your mansion's rooms.. then take a picture of you sitting in the middle of that pile smiling
then take out a full page ad in ur hometown's newspaper (which is where most of these ppl will probly still be living, due to no other choice).. and put at the bottom of the page something like "who's laughing now"
that's what id do, but your probably a lot nicer and less petty than i am

Hi Cazzi
I would say that everone is interested in something or other, but why people should laugh at you is beyond me.
Science is such an interesting subject & affects us all.
I think of myself as special & pretty much do as I want to, if others chose to do their own thing then thats fine, as long as it dos'nt harm anyone else.
Do not worry about what others do & do what you want to do in your own way.
That is what makes you, you!
You are special too!

It's possibly a little unusual, but there is nothing wrong with it. What is normal is that there is usually someone who will laugh at people more intelligent, academic or studious than they are. Maybe people secretly envy your enthusiasm.
