The funny thing about random chance is that it's, well, random. If you can look at a large sample of possibilities then the random elements even out; but when we are looking at one particular example -- like ourselves, for example -- then the random effects do not cancel out, and it can feel like the universe is persecuting us.

A character on the show Babylon 5 remarked that the universe was an injust place, and that's a good thing, since if the universe was just then all the bad things that happened to people would be deserved. Since bad things happen to good people, it's more comfortable to consider a fundamentally unfair existence. This is very wise.

Ouch, sorry man.
There's nothing I can really say that'll truly help you, so here's the best I can do:
Don't go on your motorbike. Sell it, save up and buy a car or better yet, to help save the environment (and your arteries), walk.
Walk your dogs more often. It doesn't rain everyday, and it's good for all of you.
Beware of forklifts.

Good luck.

Well sadly it feels like life is targeting us, because it IS! The good news is, if you can redirect the worlds attention on someone else, you can be set for a while. Try this.

Knock the knees out from under someone who truly and honestly deserves it...

The bad news is, it's hard to find that kind of person. Due to predictable behaviour (see the works and theories of Darwin.) they usually don't last long enough for someone Else to correct them.
