I have a home I would like to rent out to Section 8 tenants in Spring Hill, Florida. I have already contacted the Housing Board. Specifically, how long does it generally take from the time you contact Housing Board to the time they inspect, approve, etc.? I have read many horror stories on the internet? Does anyone, either tenants or landlords have information/complaints/stories/ Thank you so much! Michelle

The amount of time till they inspect the property depends on the area and the demand. Usually they refer a prospective tenant to you, THEN inspect the premises. This gives them the most leverage to get things fixed ASAP.

You don't need to just rent to Section 8 tenants. You can rent to anyone you like.

There are numerous books on the subject. Check Amazon and purchase a few. I'd recommend "A Millionaire Landlord" by Shemmin. You can't do everything he suggests, but it gives you a good idea on how to proceed.

There are other books, but just read a few and you will get the idea.

Good Luck
