If you set up a website, can you just use it privately for the associated email address and not allow public access to the page? Or does the page have to point somewhere for email to work? Also, when you set up a website, do you automatically own the associated email address? Or do you have to set that up separately?

You can buy a domain thru yahoo and use it only for email. I did this for a couple of years and there is no requirement at all to do a website.
It works pretty well, so have fun be unique!

it all depends on the hosting company....check them all out carefully
