yes and no. I don't believe the govt. should censor anything dealing with religion, opinions, ideas etc...
But, anything that can be potentially harmful to the youth should at the least be monitored. However, I dont' think the govt. should have total responisbility of this. Parents need to censor what their children are doing and the govt. wouldn't have to.
Basically, if people would use discretion and realize just because you have a right doesn't mean you should abuse it, there wouldn't be an issue.

Yahoo! Answers likes to censor people. They don't believe in free speech.
For example, my question was deleted. I merely asked a simple question:
>>You have posted content to Yahoo! Answers in violation of our Community Guidelines. As a result, your content has been deleted.
Deleted Question: Why have Labor unions been controlled by the Mafia and communists?
Question Details: Are American workers that dumb to be fooled by commies and the Mafia?
Reason of Violation:Insulting Other Participants <<
LOL, what a joke! I have seen CEOs called far worse on here and nothing was deleted. But heaven forbid you call a "worker" dumb! (I think Fidel Castro has the final say on Q & A around here)

censorship is good in favor of the children of today. For example, it is a good thing to edit movies and music played on television since children could be subjected to things that, at their age, they shouldn't. Freedom of speech is one thing, but putting things out that are potentially harmful and degrading should be monitored for the sake of our youg ones.

I'm against it.
the first amendment is set up to protect against violence-insighting speech and slander- we don't need anymore laws.
I can understand a law saying you can't get on a mega-phone and use swear words/slurs in a public area. you can still say waht you want to say, you don't have to use offensive language where people who don't want to hear it are walking by or in their homes with their windows open.
I think those laws are or should be intended for outside rallies/speechs. when you are inside, people can choose rather to walk in or stay out
-sometimes we do have to think about the majority. 2/3s of the nation are adults

Yes we must protect our little ones from the dangerous things that can be said on television. Otherwise, the heinous and hypocritical acts they witness at home, school and the country club could be distorted.
